We are so excited to announce that we are opening a NEW studio downtown Napanee, ON. It will be called "Serendipity Studios" and will host an art gallery featuring work by local artists, a photography studio, and also ONE-STOP shopping for weddings! We are also pleased to announce that Becky Hinch from Chocolate on Your Face photography will be a part of this endeavor and you will have an opportunity to view her work & even have her take your photos :) www.chocolateonyourface.com
We plan to open the doors at 6 Mill St. East (corner of Centre St. & Mill St.) on October 1st, 2009 and invite you to come visit us!

The Big Red Door

Erin & Mike had a beautiful day for the wedding at the Corbyville River Inn. We found an old red door with ivy growing everywhere, that used to be an entrance to part of the distillery years ago. It made an interesting backdrop and Erin definitely looked like a model! Congrats to you both :)

Prom Date!

These three lovely ladies invited us to take prom photos for NDSS (our second year in a row!) and it was nice to see all of the grads dressed up and enjoying themselves. We had a good time and even though my dad was my 'prom date' for the evening, it was a lot of fun! Thanks ladies and good luck :)

Happy Birthday to Kennedy, who also turned "ONE" recently! It's amazing how fast she has grown and I am so happy that I have been able to take photos of her since she was a very young baby. Her beautiful blue eyes were glowing when she saw her birthday cake and it was nice to be a part of her special day...

It's been a busy few weeks and I have been trying to post, but it has proven to be quite difficult! I had the pleasure of meeting wee Chloe, just before her first birthday and she was absolutely adorable :) She loved the camera and also the pink balloons, and we had fun capturing some "precious" moments, as she reminded me of one of the girls from the Precious Moments collection. I hope you had a wonderful 1st Birthday Chloe!

Friday proved to be a perfect day for an outdoor wedding, and Beth looked stunning in her gown. It was so nice to be a part of their special day and the entire wedding was very elegant and romantic. The path to the wedding site was lined with lavendar bags, glowing with candle light and the white lights added a soft touch. The colours were beautiful and we only hope that we captured each and every moment for them :) One very memorable moment was when the bride & groom cut the cake with the assistance from Don Cherry! Congrats to you both and we wish you all the best as you begin the journey of becoming husband & wife...

Tulips & More Tulips!

I would love to have my very own tulip gardens that could be this beautiful year after year, however travelling to see them does make it all the more meaningful. We ended up having a beautiful day for photos in Bloomfield yesterday! The tulips were in full bloom and so colourful. Thank you to all of the families who came out and also to the soon-to-be-married couples :) Thanks to the Nymans who were very gracious in giving the kids a tulip, and also for allowing us to use their beautiful gardens.

Ste.Anne's Spa

Yesterday I had the opportunity to feel like royalty myself! Along with three lovely ladies, we booked an entire day at Ste. Anne's Spa in Grafton, ON. As you drive up the gravel road and the 'castle' comes into sight, you can already feel your body starting to relax. Especially after you sign in and receive your white robe and are given a tour of the grounds. We took full advantage of the natural spring pools, the eucalyptus steam room, wellness activities (our leisurely walk to visit the wild mustangs was well worth it!), and the other wonderful amenities that Ste. Anne's has to offer. In the afternoon we had our treatments, and I experienced the "Caribbean Therapy". It was my first time being wrapped in seaweed and it was amazing! I am pretty sure that I dozed off on the table and could have spent the entire night there on the heated massage table. I highly recommend going there for at least a day, and plan on spending a night there the next time I go. What a nice Mother's Day treat :)

Queen for a Day!

I was honoured to be a part of MYFM's Mother's Day radio contest "Queen for a Day" where mom's were nominated to win a day full of pampering! I met up with Angela (the Queen) at Hooked on Hair and watched as she received the royal treatment. The winning package included breakfast, shopping, lunch, spa treatments, etc... etc... etc! After she had her hair and make-up done, she was escorted back to her luxury vehicle and headed to change into a dressy outfit, then made her way to the Loyalist Golf & Country Club where we took some time for a photo shoot. The Queen looked fabulous and you could tell she felt like royalty! Thanks to MYFM for involving me in such a great contest!

Tulip Season

I contacted the owner's of Nyman Gardens in Bloomfield (191 Main St.) and will be taking photos there instead of Churchhill Park in Kingston. The sessions will take place on Saturday May 9th (just in time for Mother's Day!), from 10-4pm and Sunday May 17th from 10-4pm. Please email me at info@jenfitzphotography.com if you are interested in having your child/family photo taken at these beautiful tulip gardens! The sessions will be approx 20-30 min and are $50 (tax incl.). Cash is acceptable, as well as cheques made out to: Jen Fitzpatrick. I will mail or deliver your CD to your address with your photos and copyright release, where you can have your photos developed anywhere. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you :)

It has been a very busy year thus far! We had our baby in December, and went to Florida last month to be married, and are planning a reception for June... and so on! I will be taking photos in Kingston this Spring at Churchill Park (685 Brock St.) when the tulips are in bloom, and will offer a $50 photo session (approx 30 mins) for your child/family. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and all the best in 2009! We had the most amazing Christmas ever, as we were able to bring home our new baby Griffin on Christmas day :) It was an incredible gift I must say!

My little friends Jacob & Ethan came for a visit yesterday. My how time flies... Ethan is already 18mths and Jacob is in kindergarten, wow!

Ever After

For all those bride-has-beens and 1980's bridesmaids, there was a special event created just for them! It was called "Ever After" and it was held on Feb 15th, here in Napanee at the Lion's Hall. Connie Pritchard, Janet's Flowers, Jim Madden, and Starlet, as well as several donors and volunteers, all worked together to put this outrageous affair on, and it was a great success! We enjoyed ourselves and had the opportunity to capture the event by taking photographs. Here are a few from the evening, and Elvis was even there to marry people, divorce them, or just to 'bless' them! Fun was had by all...

Studio Hours

I am making changes to my website, and will be adding a "flash" section soon! I love viewing slideshows and will be adding images, as well as music.
Also, I have posted that the studio will be open on Wed-Fri from 9-4pm and Sat-Sun from 9-2pm for appointments. This will begin on April 1st, 2008 and until then, I can schedule appointments at your convenience. Lil' Miss Maggie

Christine came all the way from Ottawa for photos, with her wee little Maggie in tow! I was so happy to see them and can't believe how fast time flies and that Maggie is already 3 months old! She is such a happy baby and we had a great shoot, even though she looked a bit "scared" in the first few photos, we quickly found out that it was a facial expression of a different kind ;)

Thanks for coming to see me and I can't wait to see the whole family in the spring time.

Gerry's Wedding

We had another winter wedding on Saturday Feb 23rd, 2008 and it was a gorgeous day! Gerry was glowing and we captured many beautiful shots as she prepared to join her groom at the church ceremony. Well I have finally started a BLOG, and will do my best to update it and add in photos from a variety of sessions! We have had a busy winter and are expecting that things will pick up even more this summer...
The studio is almost finished here at our home, and even though there are a few more things we need to do, it is still open for appointments. There are so many babies on the way this year and if you would like posed/sleeping photos, please book when your baby is quite new (1-2 weeks).
I hope everyone is still enjoying the snow and if you would like "Easter" pictures, call or email for an appointment. I have a bird's nest, easter eggs and bunny ears, as well as other props if you are interested. Thank you and take care!

Winter Wonderland

I had the opportunity last week to venture outdoors with Reed and his family. It was snowing lightly and we had to trek through some difficult areas at the park, but we ended up getting some nice shots. Reed was happy walking around and afterwards we all came back to the studio to warm up and to take some more pics. Thanks for being such great sports!
